It's supposed to be set, like, literally a day after they get married, pretty much? And that is why they are being derps. And getting falling-down drunk nah, they just got excited in their celebrations.

Second try at a Temrer story, first I've put up here, and first try at writing modern!human!AU. For unknown reasons (seriously, I'm not sure why it couldn't be Laurence, shut up), Excidium is driving Temeraire and Iskierka to the beach. >> It doesn't do everything I want it to, but fuck it, I'm sleepy and I couldn't get the words to go right on the SitR fic I was working on earlier.

I am tempted to change [livejournal.com profile] sulkysukey's PB from random paintings that aren't completely off to Catinca Untaru. Aside from the fact that she's slightly fuller-cheeked than I really have in mind for Sukey, she basically looks about right for it. I'd have to pick 'em carefully, though, as she hasn't got the right eye colour. >>

I DON'T KNOW WHY THIS MATTERS IT IS NOT AS THOUGH I HAVE PLANS TO PLAY HER ANYWHERE. But it is vaguely related to the below, which is another Poe Family Adventure. As per usual with them, historical accuracy isn't really what they exist for, so asking it of them is a bit of a tiring job. Completely unedited and likely to stay that way. And, of course, as per usual, asks the question "What if, instead of dying, Virginia and Edgar Poe had three wacky children?" Today's installment is to be blamed entirely upon Kate Beaton.

it's so clear that I shouldn't be writing right now )

Prompt was from [livejournal.com profile] covet, and it went Sometimes someone can mean so much to you, that not even the truth can change your mind. I thought about it for a little bit and then wrote something only marginally related, and as usual, not what you'd call good. Sorry about that, Pixy. TCLSfic ahoy, etc.

Don't get excited--almost all of them are reworkings of the same quote, including a set that are in almost all the different Ivy League schools' colours. >> This is basically a "let's just dump all these somewhere and move on to a less epically fail project" post, tbh.

It's a snippet from a TCLS fic I'm never going to finish. The main point was to get Cal and his niece (because as we all know, when in doubt, I write next-gen fic) into a bit of a verbal spat, but I couldn't get it to there. So let's give up for now, et cetera. This is from end-of-April-beginning-of-May; Jean and I sat by the river and it was blinding and beautiful and instantly reminiscent of Fun Home for me. All this blah blah blah to stall on something that isn't very good and isn't at all done, but sometimes one wants just to put it up and forget about it for a while, et cetera.

Mistakes in the way of syntax and typos and etc can be blamed on the fact that I am not wearing my glasses right now. Mistakes in the way of logic, voice, canon, and et cetera can be blamed on the fact that I was getting to sleep and was viciously attacked by this idea and am now typing it directly into this post in hopes of getting it down now and getting it down good later. I don't know when it's set, but since probably no one reading this knows the source material and also, it's late, who cares?

I lay on my back on the lumpy couch, staring up. )

I have been ravenous for thinks lately, but the problem with that is that you have to write something (and it would help if it didn't suck) before you can get feedback on it. SIGH self is lazy and also is writing a shitty Jess tonight. The problem with first-person books is that it's really obvious when you're Doing It Wrong. DX Maybe in the morning I will fix it up some.

I've been meaning to use this for photography since...well, since I made a writing/art journal, and I never really have. So, um. Let's try it now, a little. I haven't decided how I'll format it--one photo per post or several behind a cut (bearing in mind that if I did the former, I wouldn't do a kajillion posts at a time, obv >>) or what. I dunno, I'm bad at making decisions--which is in keeping with the theme, because I'm no photography ace, either. XD;;

In any case, this is a rose of some sort (I always forget to write down the information of the flowers I'm taking pictures of) climbing up the wall of the Rose Tower in the botanical gardens I visited yesterday.

So I tried to write out something that I mentioned to [livejournal.com profile] thereoncewas, that I've had in mind to write but haven't found a way to do well yet. I still don't think I succeeded here, and posting this is actually making me kind of skittery, but. It's a try, and so be it and et cetera.

Niko/Promise, like everything I write in tcls fandom is turning into.

Was going to be a story about small!Niko and small!Cal having to go and retrieve Sophia from a bar. Was kind of a stupid idea, but it fit with the music I was listening to and I wanted to write something. Dunno if I'll bother trying to finish it--the voice sounds off to me, and the storyline's kind of dumb. Felt like posting it anyway, because I was literally typing it into this box and was worried it would end up accidentally disappeared if I didn't. Blah, blah, blah.

Fifty entries, wooooooooooooooo. >> This is probably the one I've been most awkward-nervous about posting. It's set in my silly little TCLS future!verse, just a bit of scrap. And--um, yeah. See, I continue to feel lame as hell for having a silly little future!verse, so, um. Yes. But anyway, yes. A misbegotten Christmas present, I maintain. This is one of a few stories from the Pile Of AR's Terrible TCLS Stories that I'm going to put up in the next few days. It is good indication of why I shouldn't ever try and write Promise/Niko. :-/ I feel horrifically naked and blegh posting this, I have to admit, but as your eyes bleed, just remember that I can kind of write Cal's voice. AT LEAST I CAN DO THAT. et cetera.

Continuation of this, incomplete. I wanted to wait and put up the rest of it when it was done and be all "voila, happy Christmas, etc," but it's refusing to get written. DX And sometimes it helps if I just put up what I have, so. As they say in Amazon Trail, here is what I have: unfinished, probably awful, but continuing (slowly, slowly). ♥

It isn't good, and I don't feel I did a good job at all with the voices--but hey, it's been a while. >> I was being all stalky with [livejournal.com profile] cal_sitter, as you do, and Jen had mentioned right about here the most fantastic idea evar. I feel bad for not asking before stealing wholesale, but. There we go. >>

Anyway, it's set around when Niko is...fifteen-sixteen?...and Cal is however old Cal is. It's shameful how hard I find it to keep their ages straight. But I think it's being told in retrospect--again, as you do. And it's also terrible, but that goes without saying, et cetera.

...The fact that writing more than a few sentences of fiction seems to absolutely drain me is depressing the fuck out of me tonight. But on the off-chance that something can someday come of it for me, here it is.

V for Vendetta, movieverse. Post-torture, pre-leaving. It was originally going to involve cryptic attempts at past-sharing on V's part. And it's shit and I've mixed up words, I know it, but hey. Shit's what we're here for.
