"Feel that heat!" Amanda exclaimed as they walked out of the climate-controlled ship onto the sunbaked ground. Each step seemed heavier than the one before--the change of gravity took a few minutes to get used to on any planet, but it was particularly unflattering on Vulcan. However light the crepe gowns currently in fashion might be, Amanda felt like an elephant clodding around until her body adjusted. "I always forget it until I come back."
Sarek glanced down at her, an eyebrow raised. He wouldn't crack a smile now, not when they were technically in public, but she could read the amusement hiding in his expression easily enough. He left all the clues there for her in the way he held his mouth and tilted his head toward hers. "I trust it is not too hot for you, my wife."
"Oh, no." She patted his forearm, and they strode toward the gates of their new home. The breeze ruffled the veil shading her hair, brushing lightly over her bare neck. "Once you've felt the sun on Vulcan, you'd be crazy to want anything else instead."
