And then years later, Tharkay brings it up again, and Will is like, no, and Tharkay is like, dude, they already let you wear your hair long, what's up with that? And Will is like, I dunno, just 'cause, and eventually Tharkay convinces him to pierce one ear and they do it in Will's kitchen and Temeraire is very interested and wants his ear pierced, too, please, and while Will has suffered injuries before, it still rather hurts. :|

But I don't think I have the energy to write that one right now.
